We add the Guide Shipping Protection item to your store catalog.  This allows us to charge your customers our fee if they select Guide Shipping Protection during checkout.  With your permission, our support team also adds the Guide Shipping Protection check box to your shopping cart.

Please provide your customers with a link to https://www.guideprotection.com. Once there, customers can submit a claim and we'll handle everything from there.

We will replace any order that was lost, stolen or damaged during shipment.

When selected, customers pay the Guide Shipping Protection fee directly to your store when they check out.  We collect this fee from you through a Shopify App Usage Charge after the order is placed.

Guide is free for merchants and is available for purchase to customers in the cart page. For cart totals under $100 USD Guide is only $0.98 USD. For cart totals over $100 USD, Guide is 1.5% - 3% of the cart total.

You’re right. Guide is free for merchants! Because Shopify has a closed-cart system, the total revenue made by each sale sent to the merchant is unable to be split among different parties. In order for us to receive the amount that our mutual customers pay for Guide Shipping Protection, we send a usage charge through Shopify for each order that adds Guide. The charges on your statement are for the exact amount of the total protection fees. This amount is shown on your monthly statement so there are no suprises.
